Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs) are part of Australia’s carbon market and are generated through approved projects that contribute to lowering greenhouse gas emissions.

Each ACCU represents one tonne of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO₂-e) that has been removed, turning verified climate action into a recognised carbon asset.

How Are ACCUs Created?

Eligible projects can generate ACCUs by demonstrating verified reductions or removals of greenhouse gas emissions. Depending on the approved methodology, credits may be issued annually for up to seven years.
