Renewable Electricity Guarantee of Origin (REGO) certificates are part of the Federal Government’s Guarantee of Origin scheme.
They provide evidence of the source and generation method of renewable electricity, allowing businesses to demonstrate their use of zero-emissions electricity and verify the renewable status of related products.

How Are REGOs Created?
REGOs can be created by organisations that own or operate an eligible facility, such as:
Accredited power stations Electricity generation systems Eligible storage systems
REGOs may be created from a diverse range of renewable sources, including hydro, wind, solar, geothermal, food and agricultural waste, black liquor, landfill and sewage gas.
The Future of REGOs
REGOs will operate alongside LGCs until 2030, when they are expected to replace them. Time- and date-stamped generation data provides greater transparency and confidence in verified renewable electricity.
