Peak Reduction Certificates (PRCs) are tradable certificates created under the NSW Government’s Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS).
1 PRC represents 0.1 kW of peak demand reduction, averaged over one hour during the peak summer period. PRCs help reduce pressure on the electricity grid while supporting lower costs.

How Are PRCs Created?
An Accredited Certificate Provider (ACP), such as Ecovertex, calculates the demand savings from eligible upgrades or modifications in line with scheme requirements, enabling the resulting PRCs to be created and registered.:
The peak period runs from 2:30pm to 8:30pm AEDT between September 30 and March 31 each year. For every 0.1 kW of eligible peak demand reduction achieved during this period, one PRC can be created.
